Notes I took inspiration for this pattern modification from a McCall's pattern I saw in a catalogue at my nearest Spotlight (but I did not want to pay over $20AU for a single pattern!). First time I have tried a pattern hack!

Fabric is a cotton sateen that I found on the clearance rack at my local spotlight.

I have adjusted front panels to remove sleeves and wide shoulders, replaced with thin strap (after googling McCalls pattern at home), and the bodice is fully lined.

I some amazing hot pink buttons off Ebay to finish it off. I added the button placket into the pattern pieces rather than a separate placket which I didn't really like - though it flowed better.

I didn't use darts in the back, opting to cut the dart placement completely through and replace dart with seams.

I am not a fan of pockets so haven't included these, if I had enough fabric I would have put hidden pockets in the side seams.

I found the bodice was very loose when I tried it on, so my solution was to add six lines of elastic across the back to take in some of the gaping.

this is my first pattern hack, and love the fact that the Lekala pattern blocks allow for some adujstment.

This fabric is beautiful - what a lucky find!
Your changes have resulted in a lovely dress, very summery and very different to the original style.
