Notes | This jacket was a bit of an experiment. The pattern was designed for denim, but I had some blue wool fabric - just enough for a short jacket. I decided to see if it would work. This wool fabric was woven in a local village (Delph, in Saddleworth) so that was nice to use. This jacket definitely needed a lining, as the wool tended to grip onto whatever was worn underneath - making it difficult to pull on and off. I drafted a lining pattern, added a navy blue satin lining. I am very pleased with the outcome, this is a neat everyday jacket with great pockets (there are 4 good-sized, useable pockets). The style feature I like the best is the way the panel seams are topstitched, which makes the jacket feel more casual. |
