Notes I saw this fabric online and wanted to make a casual dress out of it, one you can wear to a barbecue at a friend's place or to the lake on a hot day. I really LOVE this pattern because it is romantic with the flowers and "metal head" enough with the skulls - the perfect combination to be dressed "true" without having to burn alive in a black band shirt. Plus I am more the romantic girly dress type anyway :D

I felt the pattern was quite challenging for a beginner, though, and I had to change the part for the cord a bit, as the instructions seemed impossible to my logic. So I just created a tube on top of the neck with the neckline facing and inserted the cord. I tried to follow the instructions first, which resulted in bad wrinkles at the part where the arms start, which seemed inevitable to me. But if anyone can enlighten me if and what I did wrong there please, do so!

I have also sewn together the placket part up until the middle of my beasts, as I was afraid the elastic band could tear the plackets apart and show my belly. Plus this way I did not have to make too many of the dreaded button holes ;)

And I got rid of the upper pockets, as I was afraid that they could stand away and make my breasts look strange and I also thought this might "disturb" the pattern of the print too much.

Well all in all, I am so happy with this little dress. With leggings underneath, I can even wear it on a warm autumn day, so I hopefully won't have to wait until next year!

P.S.: sorry for that super long text...

    Thank you :)

I am glad that you like the fabric. Skulls are always a bit controversial... but I somehow like them...

Very nice dress. Of course I understand why you didn’t want to put pockets. The pockets become more invisible if you cut the pockets from the fabric in the same place so the pattern does not change.

Nice dress and the fabric reminds me of someone.
