Notes Fabric is a Liberty Tana Lawn (cotton), this took just under 1m (pattern has a direction, so could possibly be made from less fabric if there were no "up and down" to the design).
This is a very quick make, could be made in an hour if I had been more organised.

I love this top, the neckline is easy to do and is a real feature. It looks particularly good peeping out from under a cardigan, the gathered edge is very effective.

The black shorts in my picture are Lekala 5471, I wear these a lot as they are so comfortable and go with any of my tops.

Update - after washing, I discovered that the adjustable gathers made ironing really easy. This top is a winner!!!

What an excellent idea Shelagh, elastic in the casing would be good (probably better than the binding strip!)
I agree that this is a great summer top, although for hot weather I would advise ordering the pattern with sleeves a little wider than needed, as they are not very loose (I ordered this with an upper arm measurement 3cm wider than my actual measurement - and it is just right).

This top is in my wishlist. I wonder how using elastic in the casing would work. Your rendition is lovely. Summery and cool. As we are coming into summer here in Australia it would seem a good next project.

I like the fabric, nice colours. The top suits you well.

Thank you Tannie, it is a great summer top - but should also be a useful "layer" as the weather becomes colder.
The neck is very clever, gathered using a binding strip, so the gathers remain adjustable. I did find that it was necessary to knot the ends of the binding, otherwise they could pull out from the casing if the retaining stitches didn't hold.

That looks nice and comfortable in the summer. Have you wrinkled your neck or are they pleats?
