Notes Inspired by multiple other Lekala Sewists.

I purchased this fabric at an odd little shop of second hand craft supplies. It set me back $2.50 + $.47 for thread. I used scraps of some bicycle fabric for piping, lining the stand up collar and the placket. Not half bad for $2.97 ! (Mom will be so proud).

I made some bias binding for the sleeve edges as well.

I used French seams which I never regret (unless I have to take them out).

I had never used the button hole attachment to my sewing machine before (I still think my Grandma would frown upon such a “new fangled contraption”). It worked very well. I will certainly used it again. The feature to use the machine to sew on the buttons seems to me to make a very simple task more difficult. Perhaps I will use it with bigger buttons.

While the collar is looser than I expected, it could be worn buttoned to the top or the collar opened.

I love it! The fit is exactly how I wanted it. No regrets! I can see wearing this top in many different prints or solids.

I would say that I used my old measurements when I was about #15 heavier (when I first purchased the pattern). Had I used current measurements, I would not have been happy with the fit.

Looks like you did a very nice job on this. You certainly paid alot of attention to detail. I like the contrast between the 2 different fabrics you used, too. I also buy fabric at resale shops and have gotten some awesome deals on some really nice fabric. Usually don't know exactly what I'm going to use the fabric for when I buy it, but that's how I've gotten the massive stash I have. As the saying goes: "She who dies with the most fabric wins." I'm pretty sure I'm in the running. LOL
