Notes | I was prompted to make this based on Tanya Maile Hughes “Dress Like Your Grandma Sewing Challenge.” There’s a good 3” of ease in the fitted bodice, for me. I’m debating taking it in at the side seams. If I ever make a more formal version, say in silk or velveteen, I would take in the ease.. • Primary fashion fabric: from a vintage bedspread I found on Etsy. It is a cotton that’s a very loose weave, basically like gauze. Underlining was essential to help it keep its shape. • Pink linen - contrast on collar, sleeves and bias tape at hem were from a RTW shirt. I had this shirt on my work table. • Aqua linen - Hong Kong seam bias tape was from some lovely linen napkins. I was looking for some lining fabric for another project and found these beauties. Perhaps I won’t use linen again for Hong Kong seams, too bulky. • White underlining - full size sheet • invisible zipper - from RTW dress Full details on pattern review dot com |
