Notities | This shirt nearly every up being a UFO. An ironing accident because I didn't read the label for the fabric. Apart from that this shirt went together nicely. Fits well as most Lekala patterns I've tried do. Wonder whether I need to adjust for a sway back? When I look at the photos of most of my snug fitting tops, I seem to have extra fabric in the small of my back. The darts in the front make for a slightly fiddly sew. In a plain fabric you would topstitch as suggested, but with this fussy print, I decided not to. Update 11/9/17: I find this shirt to be one for keeping arms by side. I wore it to work and every time I lifted my arms to do something at shoulder height, I had to pull it back down so it would sit properly. The front top facing tends to ride up and open up when you lift your arms. I might do a photo so you see what I mean. Probably needs sleeves with more ease for work. 1/11/17: For this shirt to be "work safe", the pattern needs to be either less snug fitting in the body or the sleeves need to be less tailored and more like a men's shirt. If you keep it snug the arm scythe needs to be higher under the arm and the sleeve head less high. Please see http://www.threadsmagazine.com/2016/01/25/video-how-to-modify-sleeves-for-better-arm-mobility for some ideas on how to change the sleeve so you can lift your arms in the blouse without having to pull the shirt back down afterwards. |
