Notes | This was a very easy pattern and one of the first I sewed from Lekala. It took me a couple patterns because I was still figuring out how to best put in my measurements. As it turned out, I didn't need all the usual alterations I do on other pattern brands. After that, I was able to print, assemble and sew the top in about 3 sessions. The fit is very comfortable and easy, but looks smart and finished. It's perfect for my work where I sometimes have difficulty balancing my formal style with the very casual style of my coworkers. It makes me feel elegant, while not overdressed. I'm pretty happy with it, and I think I'm going to make another, but with a single front peplum in the front. I also think a more crisp fabric would be better than the rayon I used. The changes I made were to shorten the bodice any 3/8", but I think it would have been fine without any changes. I also turned up the sleeves 3 inches and hemmed, then folded up for a cuff. Because the sleeves were little loose on me, I think it gives a more finished look. I also added a button loop at the top because I didn't do a nice job on the zip. The button is home-made fabric covered from the kits that just snap together. For fit reference, I used a reduced shoulder width. I also input my biceps measure. Everything else is standard from the main measures. |
