Notes | Wow, what a project! I had already ordered this pattern in 2020, so the measurements had changed a little since then (that is, the seamstress). So I added some extra allowance to the seams. In vain. I even had to take it in because the model of the jacket is really fair even though it doesn't look like it. I don't remember what material the fabric is anymore, but it's a double-sided denim/suede imitation with a bit of stretch. Then I thought about how to get neat seams on both sides. The rose side has a standard joint seam. And on the suede side I left the raw edges which I stitched with a zigzag. The hem and cuffs have ribbing. The pockets are a story of their own, and I spent a couple of weeks thinking and planning them. I completely changed the front because it felt impractical. However, at first I thought of 2 zippers, one of which opens on the other side. I didn't have a reversible zipper so I sewed on magnetic snaps. I still have a couple of meters of the same fabric left. What fun would you come up with? The fabric is a bit stiff so I don't think I like the skirt. Oh yeah, I almost forgot to mention the curved seams. Stiff fabric is more challenging to quilt because it can cause a bag. So I had to straighten the seams. I had already sewn all the seams of the bodice together. After quilting one, I checked the result. Yay!! |
