Notes A so called 'Eyelet’ blouse

To go with my ensemble (waistcoat Lekala 4091, and the Korfiati Asymmetrical wrap skirt with folds) I needed a blouse matching its color. I had this fabric for ages, limited size, so a limited choice in patterns to match. I had this pattern in my stack, so the match was made.

It is an easy to fix blouse, ready in a jiffy… if it wasn’t for my fabric and my alterations. Silly me, dreaming of a blouse fixed in one evening.

The fabric was Crêpe Georgette, but elas, a lightweight, which ment that the fabric was curling at he edges of the seams, so each seam I had to baste 4x. It’s collar doesn’t suit me, and, with only some scraps left, and a 6 cm band, I decided make small pleats to add to the collar. I like high cuffs, but decide to go against my choice and settle (for once) for a small cuff adding elastic to it, my oh my, by the time this was fixes I would have made 10 cuffs. There are no darts at the buste or the back, never the less this blouse fits very nicely.

Does the pattern have some errors? Not the pattern itself, but there is no pattern part for the facing at the neck (front as well as the back), and as my fabric is lightweight it would not hold the collar on it’s own, so I added facing. Due to this lightweight, but rather stretchy fabric I did not want to make use of fusible interfacing. So in between the front button plaquet I placed a double satin (in order to be able to make decent buttonholes).

My personal preference, I made the blouse 70 cm.

This blouse can be fixed in a jiffy, even for beginners. The size was, as it ought to be, to my personal measurements.
