Notes | I'm making a short-sleeved version of this with some adjustments to the pattern (mainly the collar, different theory on how it's to be sewn, still as confusing). The linen I used is a little heavier than ideal for a blouse like this, but I think the results are excellent. I had only 0,7 m and it just about fit if I puzzled the side-front panel together (sticking to the "piecing is period" motto like Bernadette Banner taught me, although this isn't a historical-bounding project at all). I went for a sleeve that's a little puffy and has some gathering at the top sleeve too. I even finished all the inside seams with a 6 mm ribbon (not ideal since it's not a natural fibre), and honestly, I should have just bought either a 10 mm ribbon or some bias binding but it looks really nice and I prefer it over the folding of the seams and stitching it down. It took hours to get it down by hand, but it looks pretty! I added a little ribbon on the inside too because I thought the shoulder was sagging a little too far down on my shoulder so it keeps it up a little nicer. |
