Yes, indeed: look twice, as it is the same pattern! Made it of some leftover seersucker fabric of the Lekala 5990 blouse. First of all: it is not a blouse, but a top. Second of all: the pattern does not end at the hips (as shown in the drawing) but the pattern ends at the waist. As in the pattern the ruche is single sided I do not like it to show the seam, so I doubled it. Then set it aside for some days. When I intended to finish the top, the collar had miraculously disappeared (still not found!). As I had not even scraps left and the fabric came from a sale at 1 euro per meter, I set it aside in the hope I would score some more. Elas I didn’t… Waiting to be handled again from March, and now recovering from COVID I decided it’s days were numbered. In my huge stack I found some black lace (rather looking like a fishnet, but hey, by now it didn’t matter anymore!). Squeezed my creative lemons and came up with this balloon dress. Must admit, it wears nice. Does the pattern what it promises: NO! Am I happy with it’s outcome: YES! I do not mind defeat, but not, NOT behind my sewing machine. So all’s well that ends well. |
