Fits me like a glove. Extremely elegant, kind of ‘princess-like’ even, with -in this case- a high ‘Downton Abbey’ feel. Normally I make a test version first. This time I didn’t, as I previously made the Lekala 2495 skirt that one does not have side seams) which was fine. At the drawing it looks it has more fabric and fluency than it has in reality, which I found a pity. So I will make another one, in another fabric as I have none left of this one (old draperies which I received free of charge, and already made half a wardrobe with it). But then I will create more fluency (so widen it). The pattern is easy, did not have to change one single thing (which I regularly have to with Lekala patterns). I only altered the height of the waistband (half in height) as otherwise the skirt would have been too long, and it is easier to shorten the waistband than the hem of the skirt. I also ironed fusible facing the height of the waistband under the actual waistband. In order to stiffen the fabric at the belly (as mine is bulky). It did it’s job.The hem is sewn by hand, as I dislike a stitched hem, no matter how wide it is. This is a AAAAA++++++ pattern. Love, love, love it’s outcome. |
