This pattern has a mistake on the side panel with the short gathers at the bottom. The instructions say to attach the gathers to the facing, and fold it under so the gathers are soft. This is correct according to the drawings. However, the pattern facing piece is made to fit the top of the panel.
The curve of the waist facing is also skewed so that one side is higher than the other.
